Fevers in children often do not have a clear-cut cause. Pediatricians tend not to just treat the fever, but also look at the child's entire condition. A child with a mild fever who is active, smiling and has a good appetite will often not alarm the pediatrician. On the other, another a child with the same temperature who has no energy or appetite will cause the pediatrician to investigate the reason aggressively. This INFOMED can not possibly give you all the causes of a fever in a child. It can give you some general ideas as to the cause and also give you an idea of what steps to take.
